W&W 2024: Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse on Bracelet ref. 5738/1R (Live Pics)
The Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse stands as a timeless icon in watchmaking
history. Launched in 1968 as reference 3548, the first Golden Ellipse was
presented with a mesh bracelet very similar to the one that was released a
few weeks ago at Watches & Wonders 2024. In 1978, reference 3548 was
replaced by reference 3738 which was the longest-running Golden Ellipse
reference for 30 years, and replaced in 2008 by the current reference 5738
—available in platinum, white gold, and rose gold.
