Hands-on – The New Edox Chronorally Automatic
In motorsport, every second or even a hundredth of a second can be critical. Nowadays, when marginal gains make the winner, the technology around the racers keeps track in precious detail, there are split-second chronographs and finish line cameras, and the results are factored down to a minimum. The title of an official timekeeping partner […]

Buyer’s Guide: The Rolex Explorer II Ref. 16570 — Making Sense Of The Different Versions
The Rolex Explorer II is a bit of a fan favorite. This is especially true of the reference 16570, which is part of the popular five-digit generation of Rolex sports watches. Many — including me — admire it for its honest, tool-like qualities. It is from a time before everything went maxi and shiny. But […]

Interview – In Conversation With David Brailsford Of Garrick On New Models, Supply And Demands, And More
As one of the most vocal advocates of reinstating traditional British watchmaking to its former glory, Garrick remains on our radars for obvious reasons. For years, the indie watchmaker co-founded by David Brailsford has been chiselling away at the goal to produce watches at a relatively affordable but also high-end level. Somewhat of an impossible […]

Pre-Owned Spotlight: Buy A Breguet Before It’s Too Late
Last week, I visited a watch get-together organized by the team from a Dutch watch podcast (Mannen van de Tijd). It was at a private location with a poker table, on which the guests put their watches (some even brought their entire collections). One of the watches that caught my eye was a beautiful 37mm […]

Introducing: Audemars Piguet Code 11.59 Starwheel
One of our favorite complications is being brought back by Audemars Piguet
to the Code 11.59 collection. The new Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet
Starwheel ref. 15212NB.OO.A002KB.01 revisits the tradition of wandering
hours with a new ultra-contemporary timepiece that combines black ceramic
with 18K white gold. Invented in 1655 thanks to a request by Pope Alexander
VII, who suffered from insomnia that was exacerbated by the ticking of his
clock, the wandering hours complication was rediscovered by Audemars Piguet
in 1991.

Rolex launch certified pre-owned program, but we are left with more questions than answers
The pre-owned market for watches has become bigger and bigger each year – so much so that resale giants like eBay have doubled down and entered the mix, while a company like WatchBox can afford to sign Michael Jordan (yep, the basketball GOAT) as an ambassador. Recently, we have seen brands like Richard Mille do … Continued

Not too long ago we featured a Norwegian brand called MICROMILSPEC for the very first time.
